Belfast hotel celebrates success with two prestigious awards

Radisson Blu Hotel Belfast named as one of the UK’s Best Business Hotels by Conde Nast Traveller readers in the same month it scooped City Hotel of the Year at the Northern Ireland Hospitality Awards.

A Belfast hotel is currently celebrating the success of two recent top industry award wins.  The Radisson Blu Belfast, located at the Gasworks, has been recognised as one of the UK’s top 15 Best Business Hotels by readers of the iconic Conde Nast traveller magazine.  The hotel ranked 12th on the list, in amongst landmark hotels such as London’s Mandarin Oriental and the world-famous Claridges.

To further top off a great month, the hotel team was also announced as the City Hotel of the Year for Belfast at the Northern Ireland Hospitality Awards, with sister hotel, the Park Inn by Radisson Belfast Hotel also taking home one of the top honours, winning Hotel Team of the Year for 2017.

“What a month!  We’re so proud and absolutely delighted to be recognised in this way, we aspire to deliver a genuinely great guest experience and recognition such as these awards really helps build confidence that we’re on the right track.  It’s a strong testament to the entire team at both hotels that their hard work and incredible efforts pays off” says Seamus O’Hara, recently appointed City General Manager, Belfast.

Northern Ireland born Seamus joined the business earlier this year as General Manager for both the Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson hotels in Belfast, bringing with him over 30 years’ industry experience.  From London, to Dublin, to Sligo, Newcastle, and Edinburgh; Seamus has served as a hotel General Manager for a number of well-known brands, including Hilton and Ramada, and is settling in well to his new home in Belfast.

“I’m having a great time getting to know the two hotels, the team members and reacquainting myself with this this fantastic city.  It’s such an exciting opportunity for me personally to be here and have the chance to look after the two hotels, but I also feel that it’s generally such an exciting time for the city too, with so much development and buzz around.  I’m looking forward to the coming months and seeing what we can do with the hotels, and trying to build on the platform that these award wins provide for us”
